The supply chain (or, for service firms - the service network) is one of the most important, yet highly complex, aspects of running a business entity today.  By providing clients with a quantitative way to plan, test and validate any changes prior to implementing and disrupting operations, we can help them reduce risks and realize tremendous savings and advantages in the marketplace.  


These are not capabilities that most organizations can afford to develop and maintain internally.  In fact, many of our clients are consulting and design firms who also can’t make the business case to build, manage, and retain this level of experienced capability internally.  That’s where we come in...

OUR FIRM

Diamond Head Associates, Inc., is a consulting firm composed of senior consultants and analysts with direct operational and executive supply chain  design/analysis experience.   Cumulatively we have over 200 years of hands-on industry experience in planning, designing, analyzing, and improving an array of operational, facility, and structural components of supply chain networks.   Reliable, responsive, and a proven business partner - that’s us.


We apply advanced analytics tools,  such as simulation and optimization, to help clients plan business strategy, manage uncertainty, solve complex problems,  and improve financial and operational performance  in their physical supply chain and key components – production, distribution, and transportation facilities and operations.  We also provide consulting expertise for helping clients plan, design, and implement these solutions.

The firm is founded by principals who are considered among the most senior leaders in the modeling and simulation industry.  Combined, they have over 50 years of experience in developing advanced analysis software tools and applying them to supply chain systems and strategy, to help optimize design, performance, and investment.

The Business Case

Supply Chain Optimization

This term that we often hear is the application of processes and tools to ensure the optimal operation of a manufacturing and distribution supply chain. This includes the optimal placement of inventory within the supply chain, minimizing operating costs (including manufacturing costs, transportation costs, and distribution costs). This often involves the application of mathematical modelling techniques using computer software.

Service Networks

Manufacturing and distribution firms are not the only ones who can benefit from analyzing the structure and processes in their “supply chain” network.  Although serivce based firms, such as oil field services, banking, and transportation providers may not think  of their business in this manner, they still operate a complex network of interdependent processes, facilities, key resources, and demand in a dynamic environment.  Testing and improving these operations through the process of strategy development, modeling and analysis works just the same -  often using the same set of analytics tools!
